AceShowbiz - Billie Eilish is not letting people spread "false" information about her music. The "What Was I Made For?" songstress has broken her silence on claims suggesting that she doesn't write her own songs.
On Tuesday, August 6, the 22-year-old Grammy Award winner became a hot topic on X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram. Social media users began discussing her music after she responded to speculations about her songwriting in an interview.
Reacting to the claims, Billie said, "We'll just start singing melodies and coming up with lyrics and then he'll take a melody that I sang and then start singing it. And then he'll say a lyric and then I'll say a lyric and then he'll say a lyric."
Billie explained, "You know, we just bounce off of each other. And it's really hard to point out who's doing what because it's so collaborative and it's so simultaneous." She continued, "It's really like a back and forth constantly."
The "Bad Guy" hitmaker went on to state, "And so to say [FINNEAS] does this and I do that is just false because we both do all of it." She added, "Now, I actually love making music, and I'm really good at it. It feels really good."
Later on, many social media users came to the "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" singer's defense. One in particular wrote, "I can name at least five singers who write with co writers including Olivia and Conan but she's the one having this discourse because she actually gives him credit and always puts him in the spotlight."
Similarly, another chimed in, "It's really weird that every single artist has a co writer but billie gets hate for having one and it's her own brother this really doesn't make any sense." A third pointed out, "The way every damn female artist that does have a hand in their music goes thru these accusations. It's all ridiculous." A fourth suggested, "Then we should call them a duo cause that's what they actually are. it's not her music but theirs."
In contrast, a fifth told Billie to "make up your mind," writing, "She's so contradictory it's funny. Wasn't she the one saying finneas had to push her to write with him because she didn't like the process. Now it's 'I love writing' Girl, bye. Make up your mind."
