AceShowbiz - Prepare for the explosive third season of HBO's Emmy-winning series, "The White Lotus", as it unveils a thrilling cast of newcomers and a tantalizing sizzle reel. With the tagline "what happens in Thailand stays in Thailand," the show promises an even wilder ride than ever before at the titular hotel's new location.
In new footage released by the network, new cast members Jason Isaacs and Carrie Coon are featured. Their character can be seen checking into the hotel in Thailand.
Also joining the ensemble is Parker Posey ("Scream 3"), along with the returning Natasha Rothwell as fan-favorite Belinda from Season 1. Despite the idyllic setting, smiles quickly turn into frowns as the wealthy clientele make ill-conceived decisions, allowing their fortunes to dictate their actions.
In a twist from previous seasons, season 3 introduces an overarching theme: death. This time, the satire will explore Eastern religion and spirituality, as teased by creator Mike White. Carrie Coon, one of the season's stars, confirms White's vision, stating, "It's a season about death. And this is his season about death."
Continuing the show's tradition of stacking the cast, season 3 boasts an impressive lineup that includes Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Dom Hetrakul, Christian Friedel, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood and many more.
With an international cast and larger scope than ever before, White promises a "supersized 'White Lotus' " that will be "longer, bigger, crazier." The show will continue to skewer the clueless rich while delving into deeper themes of mortality and spirituality. As Coon suggests, it aims to "put together weirder groups of people" and "speak to people who need to be spoken to in a really interesting way."
