AceShowbiz - Kesha, formerly known as Ke$ha, has been enthusiastically embracing the rise of women in music this year. In a TikTok video posted on July 7, she praised "the ladies" for their contributions to the industry, using Sabrina Carpenter's "Please Please Please" as her soundtrack.
"Proud to be a woman in music," she wrote in her caption, reflecting her support for Carpenter and other breakout stars like Renee Rapp. Kesha's support for Rapp extends to their collaboration at Coachella in April, where they performed a rendition of Kesha's hit "TiK ToK".
Beyond her public endorsements, Kesha has also expressed her gratitude for her own musical journey. On July 4, she released "Joyride", her first single since parting ways with RCA Records and settling her legal battle with producer Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald.
"I couldn't have made it through without all of you," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "Now we joyride."
Kesha's admiration for Carpenter is echoed by the broader music industry. Taylor Swift recently commented on Carpenter's post celebrating her sold-out arena tour, writing, "SUMMER OF SABRINA AND MAY IT CONTINUE FOREVER."
This summer has seen a surge in female artists dominating the charts, with Sabrina Carpenter and Kesha among them. Along with Taylor Swift, Gracie Abrams, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Ariana Grande and Charli XCX, six female artists charted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in July.
Kesha's praise for her fellow female musicians reflects her belief in the power of representation and her own journey as a resilient artist who has fought for her independence and creative expression.
