AceShowbiz - Jessel Taank, star of "The Real Housewives of New York City", gave a firsthand account of her family's experience as Hurricane Beryl barreled through Jamaica. Posting videos and updates on her Instagram, Taank showed her family sheltering indoors at the Half Moon luxury resort in Montego Bay, where they were vacationing with her husband, Pavit Randhawa, and their twin sons.
Despite the strong winds and lack of electricity, the family remained unfazed, with Taank posting videos of her kids running around the room and making light of the situation. "Entertaining toddlers during a category 5 hurricane with no electricity," she captioned one video.
After five hours without power, the family resorted to having cereal for dinner. "We have no electricity, and we've been sitting in the dark for frickin' five hours now," Taank said in another video.
However, the next morning, Taank posted a photo of calm skies, relieved that the storm had passed. "Thank you to the amazing staff at Half Moon Jamaica for thinking through every detail and making sure we were all safe," she wrote.
Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Grenada, causing significant damage, and has since weakened to a Category 2 storm. It is expected to hit the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and may regain intensity as it approaches the US border early next week.
Taank and her family are safe and well after the storm's passage.
