The 'Pitch Perfect' actress responds to radio host Meshel Laurie who accused of her telling a 'bulls**t story' about her in her bombshell memoir 'Rebel Rising'.

AceShowbiz - Rebel Wilson is setting the record straight. The "Pitch Perfect" actress responded to radio host Meshel Laurie who accused of her telling a "bulls**t story" about her in her bombshell memoir "Rebel Rising".

Meshel previously slammed Rebel over an anecdote in which she talked about how everyone she vaguely knew tried to befriend her after her meteoric rise to fame in "Pitch Perfect". While Meshel thought Rebel was referencing her in the story, the actress made it clear that it wasn't the case.

In a statement to news.com.au, "The Hustle" star said, "I am absolutely NOT referring to Meshel Laurie in that segment or my book nor in any segment of my book." The Australia native added, "I am referring to a friend who I took acting classes with at the Australian Theatre for Young People."

In her book, Rebel recalled one person from her past contacting her. "Hi, yeah, I'm thinking of coming to L.A. Can I stay with you? You're the best. I always loved you. Bye." so she wrote. Rebel, however, ignored the request as she thought, "Seeing as you weren't really my friend and now you work the reception desk at a brothel, I'm not going to reply to you."

"The Bridesmaids" actress shared that she admitted she still feels "guilty" for saying no to the person, whose identity was not revealed.

Upon knowing the anecdote, Meshel claimed that she and many other people thought that Rebel was talking about her in the story. "As a person who's been in this [entertainment] industry for a long time, I have never ever met anyone or heard about anyone else who worked reception in a brothel," she said on her "Can We Be Real?" podcast.

According to Meshel, she met the star "many, many years ago" at a gig and they shared an agent for a "long time." However, she denied contacting her to ask to stay with her in Los Angeles. She added that she found it annoying that people would think she was the one who "pretended" to be Rebel's friend.

"That's embarrassing. I don't want people thinking that of me," Meshel said. "[Rebel], you should feel guilty for making up this f**king bulls**t story about me and putting it in your book. Maybe it's about someone else, it has to be because it's not about me."
