Witherspoon, who opted for a makeup-free look and pulled her blonde hair back into a casual bun, spent the day enjoying time on the water. After their outing, she was spotted shopping and having lunch in the picturesque towns of Portofino and San Fruttuoso.
Despite her busy schedule, Witherspoon took some time to relax and enjoy her Italian getaway with friends. She was seen laughing and chatting over drinks while soaking up the sunshine. Her sighting in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico earlier this year also revealed her fantastic figure in a plunging black swimsuit.
The outing came just weeks after Witherspoon reprised her iconic role as Elle Woods to announce a new "Legally Blonde" TV series. The star is developing a spinoff series with her production company Hello Sunshine that will follow Elle's high school years before she became the famous Harvard law school graduate.
In addition to the "Legally Blonde" project, Witherspoon has several other upcoming ventures. She will executive produce an ABC pilot about a "ruthless divorce attorney" and star in Paul Feig's "Wish List", about a woman whose life takes an unexpected turn. She will also appear in the 2017 social satire Downsizing and lend her voice to an upcoming animated movie, Sing.
