AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake was photographed in handcuffs just hours after being arrested on DWI charges in Sag Harbor, NY. The 43-year-old singer was seen leaving a police station in the Hamptons with his defense attorney, Edward Burke Jr., on Tuesday morning, dressed in a black cap, blue jeans, white sneakers, and a black jacket over a gray graphic tee.
The pop icon was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two traffic violations, which included running a stop sign and failing to maintain his lane. According to a police statement, Timberlake was observed operating a 2025 BMW shortly after midnight on June 18 when he failed to stop at a duly posted stop sign and swerved across the road.
"On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel," reads a police statement from the Sag Harbor PD.
"A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation, it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition."
The Grammy winner, who has been candid about his struggles with excessive drinking in the past, reportedly failed a field sobriety test, demonstrated bloodshot and glassy eyes, and exhibited slurred speech and an inability to divide attention. Sources noted that Timberlake refused to take a breathalyzer test, leading to a suspension of his driving privileges in New York state for a year.
The incident occurred following a night of partying with friends at The American Hotel in Sag Harbor. Timberlake's arrest has added a tumultuous note to an otherwise eventful period, as he is currently on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, supporting his sixth solo album, "Everything I Thought It Was".
Timberlake's wife, Jessica Biel, was seen filming her new Prime Video series, "The Better Sister", in New York City, just hours before the arrest. The couple shares two children, sons Silas, nine, and Phineas, three.
Burke Jr. confirmed that Timberlake's next court appearance is scheduled to be held virtually on Friday, July 26. Despite this legal hiccup, Timberlake is set to continue his tour, with upcoming shows in Chicago and New York City. The father of two remains positive, as evidenced by his heartfelt Father's Day posts on Instagram, where he expressed gratitude for his family.
