Despite quashing hope for the reunion, the former soccer player vows to try to make Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Melanie C reunite onstage.

AceShowbiz - David Beckham may have disappointed Spice Girls' fans with his statement. The former professional soccer player revealed that a reunion of the English girl group, which consisted of Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Melanie C, is "not happening."

The 49-year-old retired athlete, who is the husband of Victoria (previously known as Victoria Adams), spilled the fact about the reunion in a new interview published on Thursday, June 14. Speaking to Variety on the matter, he said, "Unfortunately, that's not happening."

On the reason why, David explained, "Victoria was so pleased to see the girls, and it was a massive part of her life, the girls, but obviously, all the girls have got their own things going on." He went on to say, "They will do certain things together at certain times. But Victoria's full on with her beauty and fashion businesses. If anyone's busier than me, it's her."

Despite quashing any hope for the onstage reunion, the ex-soccer star, who is the president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF, assured Spice Girls' fans that he will try to make it happen. He stated, "There's nothing more that I'd like to see than the girls on stage again, so I'll still work at it, don't worry!"

During the chat, David also talked about the five singers reuniting at Victoria's 50th birthday party. Noting that "it was an amazing moment," he shared, "I know it's what people want, but in all honesty, I think I was the most excited of anyone. The fact that, obviously, we had all of the girls in one room."

"All of the girls haven't been on a stage together for over 15 years. So, to have them all there, to have them all up on stage, to have our youngest son playing guitar?" he continued as he flashed his big smile. "The whole reason why the girls are actually up there was I didn't want to do a traditional video of old clips and people saying, 'Happy birthday, Victoria!' My idea was to recreate the 'Mama' video, but I wanted it of just Victoria."

On April 20, Victoria, Geri, Melanie, Emma and Melanie C got together at the fashion designer's star-studded birthday bash. At that time, the five of them belted out their song "Stop", which was released back in 1997. While delivering the track, they also showed off their dance moves in front of party guests.
