The former first daughter shares her father's reaction to the actor/comedian's memorable portrayal of President George W. Bush on 'Saturday Night Live'.

AceShowbiz - Jenna Bush Hager enjoyed a laugh with Will Ferrell about his famous "Saturday Night Live" impression of her father, former President George W. Bush. During the June 11 episode of "Today with Hoda and Jenna", Bush Hager, 42, playfully teased the 56-year-old comedian about his unforgettable portrayal of the 43rd President in the early 2000s.

Asked if her father enjoyed Ferrell's acting, Bush Hager revealed that the family watched his 2004 film "Anchorman" in the White House. "He was an early fan! He liked it," she said. "We liked it." Jokingly, Bush Hager added, "You know, his comedy standards were low. I'm just kidding!"

Earlier in the broadcast, Ferrell recalled meeting former Governor Bush on the set of "Saturday Night Live". He admitted that the then-presidential candidate was initially confused by his presence.

"I just was thrust into like, their press pool and we're both awkwardly like, 'Hi, how are you?' And he's like, 'Nice to meet you.' But I could tell he was like, 'I don't know who this guy is.' And then I think it slowly dawned on him, 'Oh, this is the guy who plays me,' " Ferrell said.

The two revisited Ferrell's impression in a 2022 episode of "Today", where he revived his impersonation for Bush Hager while promoting his holiday film "Spirited".

"Here's a funny story, I didn't realize I never said 'strategery,' someone else wrote that," Ferrell said in his signature Bush twang, referencing a 2000 "SNL" sketch featuring the former president during a presidential debate.

Bush Hager confirmed that her father never actually used that term and had spent years mistakenly believing he had mispronounced it.
