On the path to parenthood, former 'Bachelor' star Colton Underwood and his husband Jordan C. Brown are committed to spreading a message of kindness and understanding, despite facing online hatred.

AceShowbiz - Colton Underwood, 38, recently took to Instagram to share some exciting news: he and his husband, Jordan C. Brown, are expecting their first baby boy via surrogate. However, their joyous announcement was met with a mix of support and "mean comments."

Underwood, addressing these comments head-on, spoke directly to his followers in an Instagram Reel posted on May 29. "While the majority was supportive and we felt wrapped in love, I do want to address some of these," he said as hurtful comments flashed across the screen.

Acknowledging that many of his followers are still closeted, Underwood explained, "For them to read those comments only solidifies the position that it's not okay to be completely yourself yet."

Underwood, who has always aspired to be a dad, opened up about his own experience staying in the closet due to a lack of representation in the gay community. "A big reason why I stayed in the closet was I wanted to be a dad and I didn't see the representation in the gay community, and I didn't look hard enough for it," he shared. "But now that I am out, it's something that I want to take pride in."

He also emphasized the intentionality behind their decision to start a family through IVF. "I want them to understand that, you know, maybe this is their first interaction with somebody who is taking this step with their husband and/or in a same-sex relationship that is building a family through IVF, for them to just understand that it's very intentional," he continued.

"We are going through this because we both want to be dads. We both want to be parents. And we both want to love our child so much, and give him the best life and put a good human being into this world," Underwood added, highlighting their earnest desire to create a loving family environment.

Underwood concluded the Reel with a heartfelt plea, "I just encourage everybody to lead with kindness, to be kind, to be patient, and to be understanding."

Earlier this month, Underwood shared the "game plan" he and his husband Jordan B. brown had for their growing family. They decided not to find out whose sperm was used to conceive their child, just asking the doctor to use the "healthiest sperm" for their first child and use the other sperm for their second one.

As Underwood and Brown eagerly anticipate the arrival of their baby boy, their journey serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of kindness, patience, and the courage to be true to oneself.
