AceShowbiz - On Saturday, May 25, "General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor was tragically shot and killed in a senseless act of violence in downtown Los Angeles. The 37-year-old actor was leaving work at a rooftop bar with a co-worker when he confronted three masked individuals who appeared to be trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car.
As Wactor approached the men, one of them opened fire, fatally wounding him. He was rushed to the hospital but later died. The suspects remain at large as of Tuesday, May 28.
Wactor's ex-fiancee, Tessa Farrell, took to social media to express her grief and demand justice. In a tearful video, she condemned the killings and urged legislators to take action against crime in Los Angeles.
"If the person who did this, if you're watching, I'm sorry, but you shot the wrong guy," Farrell said through tears. "You can get a real job. I know the job market's hard, but we're all in it together. You don't have to steal - especially take a life over it."
Farrell also shared details about her relationship with Wactor, describing it as "fiery" and "intense." They met in 2013 when both moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting careers. Despite their eventual breakup, Farrell emphasized that she still loved Wactor and was proud of the man he became.
Wactor's "General Hospital" co-stars have also expressed their shock and sadness at his passing. Sofia Mattsson, who played his on-screen wife, described him as a "truly one of a kind" and a "bright soul." The show's producers released a statement saying they were "heartbroken" and "mourning the loss of an incredible talent."
Wactor's legacy will live on both through his performances and the impact he had on those around him. Tessa Farrell concluded her emotional tribute by saying, "Johnny if you're watching from above, I love you very much and I'm very proud of you for the person you've become. You've forever inspired in my work and what I do and I wouldn't be here without what you taught me. So thank you, Johnny. I love you. I miss you."
