AceShowbiz - It looks like Rory Mcllroy has moved on from estranged wife Erica Stoll. Just days after filing for divorce from her, the professional golfer sparked romance rumors with CBS' 19th Hole reporter Amanda Balionis.
The dating speculation emerged after Rory and Amanda seemed flirty in an interview on Mother's Day after he won the Wells Fargo Championship in Quail Hollow, North Carolina. During the chat, the athlete failed to mention his ex, but he gave a shout-out to his mom Rosie, whom he credited as "the sort of rock and gel that holds our family together."
As for Amanda, she "giggled, flirted, and fangirled her way through the interview," according to the Daily Mail. The outlet also noted that the two "stood close" as she teased out details of his string of wins.
Rory filed for divorce from Erica on Monday, May 13 after seven years of marriage. According to court documents obtained by the New York Post, he cited the marriage as "irretrievably broken."
Rory and Erica had a prenup. The Northern Irishman is reportedly seeking joint custody of their daughter.
On the next day, a spokeswoman for Rory issued a statement that read, "Rory McIlroy's communications team confirmed today that a divorce has been filed." The message added, "They stressed Rory's desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible. He will not be making any further comment."
The 35-year-old also refused to discuss his divorce with reporters at a press conference before the 2024 PGA Championship. A moderator declared, "I believe you all saw the statement yesterday from Rory's communication team specifically that he will not be making any additional comments on his private life, so thank you all for respecting his wishes."
