AceShowbiz - Janelle Brown is honoring her late son Garrison Brown in a new Instagram post. The "Sister Wives" star took to her Instagram account to share how her first Mother's Day without son Garrison was spent.
"Mother's Day was surprisingly emotional for me," the TLC star wrote on her post on Monday, May 20. "It just never has been a big holiday for me. My children have always shown up for me and made me feel special everyday."
She further wrote, "Especially since they became independent adults and weren't home all the time. But this year was different."
Janelle continued, "All weekend I felt the grief so close to the surface. And it was especially poignant when I made this simple pie. Our strawberry picking excursion combined with the fact that I randomly found rhubarb at the local farmers market made it feel like this pie was destined."
In her post, Janelle also shared a picture of a "Strawberry Rhubarb" which is Garrison's favorite. "And that made this pie a little bitter sweet. I love you honey and miss you every day," she concluded.
Fans, meanwhile, showed support for Janelle in the comments section. "I'm so sorry for the loss of your son Janelle. I hope the pie made you feel a little closer to him, and reminded you of good things too,” one person wrote. Another fan added, "I'm sure Garrison was with you in spirit when you were making it."
Garrison, whom Janelle shares with ex-husband Kody Brown, died in suicide in March. An autopsy report obtained on May 15 confirmed that the 25-year-old died from a gunshot wound to the head. The Flagstaff Police Department confirmed in a statement to Entertainment Tonight at the time that they were dispatched to Garrison's residence and found him dead after being called by his younger brother, Gabriel. Garrison was buried on March 9.
