Triston, who is a high school student from McIntosh, Alabama, manages to impress the singer/rapper after performing Blake Shelton's 'God's Country'.

AceShowbiz - Jelly Roll was blown away by the country performance of Triston Harper in the Monday, April 8 episode of "American Idol". The singer/rapper praised the 15-year-old after the latter delivered "God's Country" by Blake Shelton in the two-hour episode of the show's Disney week in Hawaii.

"Triston has the voice of a man that's been through a lifetime of pain, and he's only 15-years-old," the 39-year-old gushed. "I really believe this kid could be something special."

Triston is a high school student from McIntosh, Alabama. During rehearsals, the aspiring star shared with Jelly Roll a video of him singing one of his songs at his 9th grade talent show. Triston couldn't believe he was getting advice and tips from his idol.

"Triston I told you yesterday that you were singing to Luke Bryan," Jelly Roll said after his performance. "He beat me out of my chair. You are the youngest man with the oldest soul I've ever met in my life. You have a swagger that at 15-years-old you don't even know you have! You can win this competition, young man!"

Triston was one the 12 of the top 24 contestants who performed during the night at a Disney Aulani resort in Hawaii. As for Jelly Roll, he joined the panel this episode and served as a mentor.

The first contestant of the night was platinum ticket winner Odell Burton Jr. In the episode, where he performed Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk", the Texas native told Jelly Roll how much he inspired him.

Following the performance, Jelly Roll told Odell, "I think it was absolutely incredible." The musician, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, went on to rave, "When you smelt the popcorn popping and the concession stand was open you delivered on a big platform."
