Days after sparking retirement speculations, the singer/rapper emphasizes that she plans to 'keep moving forward' despite sexual harassment and body shaming allegations against her.

AceShowbiz - Lizzo is not stepping back from the music industry. Having shocked many with her recent "quitting" announcement, the "Juice" hitmaker turned to social media to offer clarification.

"I want to make this video because I just need to clarify when I say, 'I quit,' I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention," the 35-year-old said in a video shared on Instagram. "What I'm not going to quit, is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting to people because I know I'm not alone."

"In no way shape or form am I the only person who is experiencing that negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive," the singer/rapper continued in the Tuesday, April 2 post. "If I could just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people win, negative comments win, then I've done even more than I could've hoped for."

Lizzo also emphasized that she plans to "keep moving forward" despite sexual harassment and body shaming allegations against her. "I'm going to keep being me," she concluded. "Once again I just want to say thank you for the love that I've received. It means more than you know."

Lizzo sparked retiring speculations on March 29. "I'm getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet," she wrote on Instagram Story. "All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I'm starting to feel like the world doesn't want me in it."

The Grammy winner topped off the message by noting, "I didn't sign up for this s**t." She then added, "I quit."
