AceShowbiz - Singer Ben Folds, 57, has finalized his divorce from Emma Sandell, his fifth wife. Court documents obtained by People magazine show that Folds filed for divorce in December 2023, citing irreconcilable differences.

The former couple married in Hawaii on January 20, 2017, but listed their date of separation as November 20, 2023. The divorce was finalized on February 27, 2024.

As part of the divorce settlement, Folds was ordered to pay Sandell $475,000 for her interest in their Nashville home. He was also ordered to pay her $650,000 in monthly payments of $27,083.33 over 24 months, as well as her car insurance for another 12 months. Additionally, Folds will give Sandall $50,000 for furniture, transfer the title of a 2016 Honda CR-V to her, and pay her $210,000 AUD from a National Australian Bank account.

Folds has previously been married four times. He married his childhood best friend Anna Goodman in 1987, but they divorced in 1992. In 1996, he briefly married Kate Rosen. From 1999 to 2007, he was married to Frally Hynes, with whom he had twins. His fourth wife was Fleur Stanbrook, whom he married in 2007 and divorced in 2011.

In a 2012 interview, Folds spoke about his first marriage to Goodman and the challenges of balancing personal and work life as a couple. "We had different ideas on how to live as a couple and be engaged in our work. No one ever explained those differences and how to strike a balance. When we split, both of us found a lot more success in our lives."
