AceShowbiz - "The Acolyte" gets a premiere date on Disney+. On Monday, March 18, the streaming service announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the upcoming new Stars Wars and Lucasfilm show will arrive on June 4.

On its official account, Disney+ shared a poster for the series. "An Age of Light. A Darkness Rises," so the poster, which eerily features what appears to be blood, reads. "Tomorrow. #TheAcolyte," Disney+ captioned the poster. In a separate tweet, the account explained, "trailer @ 8a PT tomorrow #TheAcolyte."

"The Acolyte", created by Lesley Headland ("Russian Doll"), is described as a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

Amandla Stenberg ("The Hate U Give"), Lee Jung-jae ("Squid Game") will star on "The Acolyte". They will be joined by Manny Jacinto, [ Jodie Turner-Smith ("Queen & Slim"), Dafne Keen "(His Dark Materials"), Rebecca Henderson ("Inventing Anna"), Charlie Barnett ("Russian Doll"), Dean-Charles Chapman ("1917") and Carrie-Anne Moss ("The Matrix").

In addition to directing the series pilot, Headland will serve as showrunner and executive produce the show alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing. Headland will also direct the series pilot.

"The Acolyte" is the latest Disney+ "Star Wars" show that it's been developing with "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" still awaiting a premiere date. Prior to this, the streaming platform released several "Star Wars" series including "Obi-Wan Kenobi", "Andor", "Ahsoka", "The Book of Boba Fett" and "The Mandalorian".
