AceShowbiz - The stars of "Superman: Legacy" has gathered around for the first cast photo. Shared by director James Gunn, the image features first look at actor Nicholas Hoult with his freshly-shaved head.

The 34-year-old English actor goes bald to portray villain Lex Luthor in the upcoming film. He is joined by his co-stars David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Maria Gabriela de Faría (the Engineer), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher) and Terence Rosemore (Otis) in the picture.

Gunn and DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran, who also produces the film, join the cast in the snap taken after a table read for the movie. "After the table read with the #Superman cast," so the director wrote in the caption, before naming everyone featured in the shot, "Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, me, Guy, The Engineer all together for the first time!"

"What a wonderful day," the "Guardians of the Galaxy" director additionally gushed. Fillion chimed in, writing in the comments, "It feels like this was only yesterday."

Gunn previously joked about Hoult's shaved head for Lex. When a curious fan asked on Threads, "Are you going to shave Nicholas Hoult's head personally?" he replied, "No because we don't want him to be know as 'the bloody-headed Lex.' "

Plot details about the upcoming Superman reboot are still kept under wraps, but it has been said that it will not be an origin story. Filming is scheduled to begin in March at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia with the movie being slated to arrive on July 11, 2025.

When addressing the appearances of a bunch of DC superheroes in the movie, Gunn promised that it will not be "meaningless cameo appearances" which he dubbed "Cameo Porn." He insisted, "If a character is in film, they have to have a reason to be there story-wise."
