The 'Love in This Club' singer insists that he was just 'having fun' with the 'No One' hitmaker after causing a stir on social media with the intimate display.

AceShowbiz - Usher has broken his silence on his controversial performance with Alicia Keys. After causing a stir with his and Alicia's intimate show at the 2024 Super Bowl, the "Love in This Club" singer claimed that he was just "having fun" with the "No One" hitmaker.

The 45-year-old eight-time Grammy winner talked about the highly-anticipated show during a virtual interview with the "Breakfast Club" radio show. Speaking to host Charlamagne Tha God in the Monday, February 19 episode, he said, "In no way is there anything that was done there that should have been viewed as bad or in any way perverted or anything like that."

Usher explained, "No, it was literally about having fun because of a song that me and Alicia made many years ago, and we celebrated it because of the legacy of it," while making a reference to his and Alicia's collaborative single titled "My Boo". He went on to stress, "No disrespect to anybody or anything like that."

During the chat, Charlamagne asked Usher, "Have you, Swizz and Alicia shared a laugh about it?" referring to Alicia's husband Swizz Beatz. In response, Usher shared, "Absolutely, we laughed about it. It's crazy how people pick the handle. It's all about how you present them, man."

The statement came more than one week after Usher and Alicia had a duet for his Super Bowl Halftime Show. On February 11, the two artists took the stage to deliver "My Boo". During the show, he shocked many viewers by hugging her from behind.

The intimate performance then caused a stir on social media. However, Alicia's husband Swizz assured that there were no "negative vibes." On Instagram, he wrote, "Y'all talking about the wrong damn thing !!! y'all don't see that amazing dress covering the entire stadium. Tonight's performance was nothing but amazing with 2 amazing Giants !"

The record producer continued, "Congrats @usher and my love @aliciakeys that song is a classic. We don't do negative vibes on this side, we make history. Go see GIANTS at @brooklynmuseum it's open until July blessings."
