Djamilla Rosa Cochran filed a lawsuit against the rapper in April 2023, accusing him of profiting off of the photo that she took of him, which showed the emcee wearing a pink fur coat and talking on a pink flip phone.

AceShowbiz - Cam'ron has lost his legal battle against a photographer who sued him for using a picture of himself on Dipset merchandise. As a result, the "Hey Ma" rapper has been ordered to pay more than $50,000 to the plaintiff.

The lawsuit filed by Djamilla Rosa Cochran in April 2023. In the docs, Djamilla accused the Harlem native of profiting off of the photo that she took of him, which showed the emcee wearing a pink fur coat and talking on a pink flip phone.

The said photo was taken during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in February 2002. According to the complaint Cam'ron was not authorized to use the photo of himself, but he used it on Dipset merchandise like shower curtains, pillows, swimsuits and socks.

On Thursday, February 15, Judge William Martini ruled that Cam'ron had indeed committed copyright infringement. It was an easy win for Djamilla since the emcee never responded to the lawsuit or offered any defenses.

In his ruling, the federal judge ordered Cam'ron to pay $40,530 in so-called statutory damages. "The court finds that a statutory damages award of seven times the licensing fee is sufficient to compensate plaintiff for the infringement of her copyright and to deter future infringements by punishing the defendants," the judge said.

In addition, the judge ordered the "Killa Season" artist to repay the $10,691 that Djamilla spent to bring the lawsuit. The hip-hop star has yet to comment on the matter.
