AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift may now breathe a sigh of relief. According to reports, a "disorderly person" was arrested over the weekend for allegedly trying to break into the pop star's New York City apartment in Tribeca.
A spokesperson for the New York Police Department told Page Six that officers received a call about the stalker on Franklin Street. "Upon arrival, [police] were informed that the individual attempted to open a door to a building at the location," the spokesperson added.
Cops did not confirm that the man, whose identity has yet to be revealed, was trying to get into Taylor's property. However, a separate source claimed they saw him attempting to enter her place.
"I first saw him around 1 P.M. - he went up to Taylor's door," the eyewitnesses recalled. "I'm not sure if he knocked or rang the doorbell."
The informant went on to note that they have witnessed the man scouring the neighborhood, especially around where Taylor, who is currently dating NFL star Travis Kelce, lives, "for a few weeks." Meanwhile, someone who lives nearby told the publication that they have also witnessed the same individual "lurking here for a month."
The man reportedly has been "sleeping on the stoop, chain-smoking constantly, shouting, and generally making everyone uncomfortable." The neighbor shared, "When he arrived before Christmas, my husband asked what he was doing here and he said, 'I want to see Taylor' ... He even had flowers at one point."
The fellow resident said they called police "many times", but it was not until he tried to break into Taylor's house that officers finally took action. "I asked him to leave this morning and he just stared at me, catatonic," the neighbor added. "Total nutcase."
