Ashley's daughter Azaylia, whom he shared with his then-girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee, died at the age of 8 months following a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. A few days ahead of the first anniversary of the death of their baby girl, Ashley confirmed that he had broken up with Safiyya.

"After a devastating and heartbreaking year, Safiyya and I decided to separate a few months ago," he wrote on Instagram Story. "This was an incredibly tough decision which we needed to keep to ourselves for some time to give us the opportunity to figure out our own journey privately."
