AceShowbiz - "The Crown" teases the end of the royal saga in the first trailer for its season 6 part 2. Unveiled on Friday, December 1, the trailer offers a look at the last six episodes of Netflix's hit series which first premiered in 2016.
It kicks off with the British royal family members posing together for a family portrait. Prince William, portrayed by Ed McVey, can be seen being reprimanded after he briefly drops his smiling face, prompting him to forcefully smile to the camera.
It also offers a glimpse at William's first meeting with now-wife Princess Kate Middleton, played by Meg Bellamy. Meg's Kate can be seen rocking the royal's famous see-through dress that caught William's eye back in 2002.
The trailer also sees Imelda Staunton's Queen Elizabeth II reacting to the British citizens' view on the monarch. "Having reviewed the data, the pollsters have now presented their findings. Asked if the royal family were out of touch with ordinary people, 53% said yes. Asked if they were wasteful of public money and if they lacked compassion, 62% said yes," a man reports to the Queen.
Towards the end of the trailer, the Queen poses a question, "What about the life I put aside? The woman I put aside?"
The official logline of the second part of "The Crown" season 6 reads, "Prince William (McVey) tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother's death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion. As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen (Staunton) reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles (Dominic West) and Camilla (Olivia Williams) and the beginnings of a new Royal fairy tale in William and Kate (Bellamy)."
The hit show's sixth and final season will also star Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne as well as Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair.
Part 2 of "The Crown" season 6 will be available to stream on Netflix on December 14.
