AceShowbiz - Kanye West has reportedly hired a high-powered lawyer to shut down a lawsuit from his former project manager Tony Saxon. According to a new report, the "Donda" artist had tapped London Meservy of Meservy Law, P.C. to represent him in the case.
New court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun revealed that Kanye's counsel had filed a nine-page response to Tony's complaint. "Defendant denies generally and specifically each and every allegation contained in the complaint, and each and every purported cause of action contained in the complaint and specifically denies that Plaintiff has sustained any injury, damage, or loss by reason of any act, omission or breach by Defendant and denies that Plaintiff is entitled to any or all of the relief requested in the complaint," it read.
While Ye has London, who is recognized as a SuperLawyer, Tony is represented by attorney Ronald Zambrano. A management hearing is set for January 2024 with Judge Serena R. Murillo assigned to the case.
In his lawsuit, which was filed on Wednesday, September 13 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Tony claimed that the Yeezy designer fired him for refusing to remove all the windows and electricity in the home. The controversial emcee allegedly instructed him to move large generators into the home.
Tony said that he was immediately ousted when he expressed concerns "about the extreme danger of such actions." The musician allegedly told Tony that he would be "considered an enemy if he did not comply" and eventually told him to "get the hell out."
The former employee added in the lawsuit, "When Plaintiff refused to engage in unlawful conduct or to engage in activity that would further cause him physical injury, Mr. Ye responded, 'If you don't do what I say, you're not going to work for me, I'm not gonna be your friend anymore and you'll just see me on TV.' "
Tony, who also served as his security guard and caretaker of the property, claimed that Ye failed to pay $20,000 a week like what he promised. Tony is suing the hip-hop star of multiple labor code violations, unpaid wages and wrongful retaliatory termination.
