AceShowbiz - Philip Rivers has welcomed his tenth child with his wife Tiffany. When announcing the happy news, the former NFL star described the baby's arrival as "an awesome miracle."
When speaking to AL.com, the 41-year-old divulged that his son was born on Monday, October 30, weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces and measuring 22 in. The athlete and his spouse named their new bundle of joy Andrew Joseph Rivers.
"It's awesome. Tiffany is awesome," Philip told the outlet. "It doesn't matter if it's the first child or the 10th child. It's an awesome miracle every time. Everyone is home now, and everyone is good."
Philip went public with Tiffany's latest pregnancy back in July. "We've had one pretty much every two years, and now this is the longest gap," he told AL.com at a 7-on-7 event in Daphne. "We are all fired up. Everyone was pulling for a boy. Even our girls wanted a boy."
Philip, who has seven daughters and three sons now, disclosed that he and his spouse were indeed expecting a baby boy. Noting that his parents come from a family of nine children, the former quarterback added, "We thought we would be the third generation of nine, but we decided to go double-digits." He then corrected himself, "Or I should say we didn't decide it. God decided."
Philip and Tiffany's oldest son is 21-year-old Gunner, who is the starting quarterback as a freshman for playoff bound St. Michael Catholic. "There is a chance for a Rivers to be throwing it around or catching it or tackling or doing something for the Cardinals for a long time," the proud father said. "I'll be 60 when this one (Andrew) has his Senior Night."
Philip announced his retirement from the NFL back in 2021. In a statement shared by his last team the Indianapolis Colts, he declared, "Every year, January 20th is a special and emotional day. It is St. Sebastian's Feast day, the day I played in the AFC championship without an ACL."
"And now the day that after 17 seasons, I'm announcing my retirement from the National Football League," he added. "Thank you, God, for allowing me to live out my childhood dream of playing quarterback in the NFL."
