AceShowbiz - Bebe Rexha has been dragged online for comparing Cardi B and Nicki Minaj's talent during a recent Instagram Live. The "I'm a Mess" songstress was labeled "corny" for suggesting that the "Anaconda" hitmaker is a better rapper than the "WAP" femcee.
The 34-year-old name-dropped the two hip-hop artists when speaking to her stylist during the live session. "I like Cardi because I f**k with her personality, I like how real she is, but like with Nicki, I just feel like the talent the writing talent, the musicality, the artistry... untouchable," she said.
Bebe's stylist then chimed in, claiming that Cardi doesn't write "95 percent" of her lyrics while Nicki writes "all her own stuff." In response, the singer stated, "Let's not get into that because we don't want [the #BardiGang] coming after us."
Bebe's attempt to avoid backlash didn't really work though. Many on X (formerly Twitter) slammed her with one writing, "Bebe is so corny for this because why did she even need to bring cardi up."
Another tweeted, "Bebe Rexha putting Cardi down in order to bring Nicki up is very telling this the same woman who said if she was on a sidewalk people wouldn't know who she was." A third added, "fun fact cardi b has more #1s on the billboard hot 100 than bebe rexha has top 10s."
" 'They need to stop putting women against each other' & Bebe compares Nicki & Cardi unprovoked seconds later," someone else penned. "That microphone must've knocked a few brain cells loose."
The feud between Cardi and Nicky dated back to 2017, when the former broke out on the rap scene and was instantly compared to the "Bang Bang" raptress. The tension culminated in an altercation at New York Fashion Week in 2018, during which Cardi reportedly approached Nicki about "spreading lies" and Cardi threw her shoe at Nicki.
