Gushing over their 'homegrown star' Brown, the Head of Netflix Film, Scott Stuber, reveals that they want to continue Enola's story with the 'Stranger Things' actress.

AceShowbiz - Millie Bobby Brown isn't done solving mystery. The 19-year-old is expected to return for another thrilling adventure as Netflix is keen on bringing her back for a third "Enola Holmes" movie.

The Head of Netflix Film, Scott Stuber, recently sat down with Collider's Steve Weintraub at the grand opening of the American Cinematheque at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood. During the interview, he couldn't help but gush over their "homegrown star" Brown and their future project(s) with her.

"You know, she's such a great homegrown star for us. I mean, obviously, 'Stranger Things' is huge for us in that, and watching her grow as an actress," Stuber said of the 19-year-old actress. "We have a film called 'Damsel' with her in the spring, which I'm really excited about, [from] Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Then, getting that character right."

When talking about the "Enola Holmes" film series, Stuber revealed that a script for the third film is currently being written. "The Holmes IP is weirdly elastic. Obviously, Warner Bros. did an incredible job with [Robert Downey Jr.] and Jude Law, so this idea that we can extend that IP with her is exciting," he spilled. "So, we're working once again on a screenplay to try to get that. But yes, aspiration. I'd like to do another one."

In the "Enola Holmes" movies, Brown plays the titular character, who is the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) and Mycroft Holmes (Sam Claflin). After initially planned for a theatrical release, the first movie was picked up by Netflix due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was released in September 2020 and became one of the most-watched original Netflix film releases, with an estimated 76 million households watching the film over its first four weeks. The sequel, "Enola Holmes 2", was released in November 2022 and received the same enthusiasm, both from critics and viewers.

As for Brown's upcoming film that Stubber mentioned during the interview, "Damsel", it will see the teen actress playing Princess Elodie, who agrees to marry a handsome prince only to find herself being sacrificed to repay an ancient death. Thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon, she has to solely rely on her wits and will to survive.

It was initially scheduled to be released on October 13, but has been pushed back to 2024 due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. To tide fans over the wait, Netflix has just released a new poster featuring a girl who seems to be Brown's character being stranded alone in a cave.
