AceShowbiz - Trina is not pregnant just yet, despite fans' speculation. After rumors ran wild on the Internet that the rapper might be expecting her first child following her performance at the 2023 BET Awards, her rep has shut down the reports.
In a statement to TMZ, the representative blamed the hip-hop star's fluctuating weight for the pregnancy speculation. "She is not pregnant despite fans' speculation following her performance at the BET Awards," the rep set things straight.
"Just like any other woman, her weight fluctuates," the rep briefly explained her curvy figure that sparked the fan theory, before adding, "She is asking for fans to just move on from this."
At the Sunday, June 25 award show, Trina took the stage to honor 50 years of hip hop with Trick Daddy. She rocked a shimmery red bodysuit with a V-cut neckline for the performance. She paired the outfit with leather-like boots and red gloves.
On the same day, she also shared footage from a live performance that showed her wearing a mini, bodycon silver dress while belting out her raunchy lyrics to a cheering crowd. Given her similar body shape in both performances, fans were convinced that she's eating for two.
"Just announce this baby so we can be happy for you, please," one of the fans wrote on Twitter. Another prematurely congratulated the 44-year-old on the supposed pregnancy, "Omg congratulations baby @trinarockstarr welcome to motherhood!"
Some others, meanwhile, have jumped to Trina's defense, hitting back at the pregnancy rumors. "Every time Trina pop out people always think she pregnant and she bee saying for years she struggles with trying to conceive and just gaining weight," one person said. Another commented, "I'm just tired of y'all keep saying Trina pregnant, she told y'all one time!! She just thick!"
Trina herself has opened up about her struggle to conceive. During an appearance on Yung Miami's talk show "Caresha Please" earlier this year, she shared, "Well, after three miscarriages, I would've had three kids. That was a lot for me."
"The first one was-I don't think I really understood it too much. I was younger, younger," she divulged. "Then once I got older, then there was the next one I was like 'Okay what does that mean? What does the miscarriage mean?' Like I just didn't really get it. Then, it just became a point like, third miscarriage. Okay."
She admitted that the three miscarriages and losing her mom took a toll on her desire for motherhood. "Then, when my mom got sick," she continued, "honestly, I just went into this phase of 'I don't even want to have a kid and my mom is not here.' Like how do I raise a kid without my mom? That's not the happiest thing for me, honestly."
