Uzi quietly changed their pronouns to 'they/them' on Instagram in July 2022 and their big move caused quite a controversy with many of their fans getting upset.

AceShowbiz - Lil Uzi wasn't playing when it comes to their identity. The "Just Wanna Rock" rapper have changed their pronouns to they/them and in a recent interview, the artist said they "never hesitated" to make the decision.

"No, I never hesitated," the 27-year-old told UPROXX. "But I did take my time to learn as much as I could about this before I was able to proceed. Taking the time to figure out who you are is a big part of what it means to be alive. Once you figure out whether you're here with it, there with it, or both, you're not alone anymore."

"This community offers access to a certain kind of support that you might not have had [previously during] your entire life because you weren't raised that way," Uzi continued. "I come from a household where it's not okay to be 'non' anything."

Uzi, who has been dating CIty Girls member JT, quietly changed their pronouns to "they/them" on Instagram in July 2022. Their big move caused quite a controversy, with many of their fans getting upset.

One person in particular wrote, "Watch people get upset about Uzi having pronoun." Another opined, "I don't think you can be a they/them if your one person. But respectfully would not care if I meet a person and their nice. But haven't met nobody who says that but just I don't get how you can be more than one person."

A different individual added, "This younger generation is so feminine." Someone else, on the other hand, chimed in, "This is great but unfortunately some people didn't make it past 2nd grade and don't understand pronouns so they're gonna hate on bro."
