AceShowbiz - Olivia Wilde has faced criticism for wearing a "wedding dress" at Colton Underwood's nuptials. However, instead of getting pressed by the backlash, the "Don't Worry Darling" director defended her decision to do so.
On Colton and Jordan C. Brown's big day, the 39-year-old wore a silky, slinky white, backless Nili Lotan gown. When posting a picture of herself from the ceremony, she wrote, "Wore a wedding dress to a wedding so I could make a joke about it in my toast."
Olivia also shared a photo of her hugging Colton while Jordan was next to them. She then let everyone know that "the grooms approved" of her outfit.
Some people were still not feeling her fashion choice though. One person on Twitter in particular opined, "Olivia Wilde showing up to her friend's wedding in a white silk wedding gown is… desperate."
Colton and Jordan exchanged vows in front of 200 guests in a ceremony at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley. Speaking of the Saturday, May 13 wedding, the former told PEOPLE, "We wanted to break some of the traditional norms of what a ceremony and a wedding look like."
"And for the entire weekend, we recognize that a lot of people attending, both of our families and some of our friends, this will be their first queer wedding," "The Bachelor" season 23 star added. "We really want to make it special."
Colton later gushed over his spouse. "I've never been more sure about something. He has the biggest heart and he's such a good friend to all of the people in his life," the reality star raved. "He goes out of his way to take care of his friends and his family. That speaks volumes. It was one of the first things that I noticed about him."
