In addition to offering a glimpse of the 'Rookie' star's live-action MCU debut, the video includes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance of Sylvester Stallone's return as Stakar Ogord.

AceShowbiz - Marvel Entertainment has unleashed a new trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", featuring some brand new characters. In addition to Chukwudi Iwuji's villainous character the High Evolutionary which has been seen before, the video unveils first look at Nathan Fillion's live-action MCU debut.

The former "Firefly" star previously had voice cameo in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie. He has landed another cameo appearance in the upcoming third film, but his role has not been disclosed.

The new trailer also offers a look at Sylvester Stallone's return as Stakar Ogord, a high-ranking Ravager. Meanwhile, the overall tone of the video is still set up as a farewell to the Guardians with Peter Quill a.k.a. Peter Lord (Chris Pratt) reminiscing their past and stating, "This is the end of the road."

The High Evolutionary unleashes his threat to "destroy the Guardians," menacingly telling Peter, "It is time to say goodbye." Meanwhile, chaos ensues as Peter returns to the planet Earth, which he left when he was only 8 years old.

The High Evolutionary is a scientist from Counter-Earth specializing in creating hybrid creatures and Rocket's creator, seeking to forcibly enhance all living beings into a "special race." Iwuji previously described the character as "narcissistic, sociopathic, but very charming," adding that there was "something very Shakespearean about him, there's something very emotionally dark about him, and he's a lot of fun on top of all that."

Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin) and Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha) also return for "GOTG Vol. 3". Will Poulter stars as Adam Warlock, a powerful artificial being created by the Sovereign to destroy the Guardians, while "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" star Maria Balakova is cast as Cosmo the Space Dog.

James Gunn returns as director and writer for third installment, which follows up the second installment, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" (2017), and is set to be the epic conclusion to the trilogy. The movie is ready to land in U.S. theaters on May 5.
