The 'Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire' star, who shares 17-year-old twin sons with her husband, also gushes over him and calls her spouse 'the best manager that I've ever had.'

AceShowbiz - Mo'Nique has decided to end her open marriage with her husband Sidney Hicks. The "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" star, who has been candid about the matter, explained the reason behind her decision in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

"Life began to happen," the 55-year-old actress said. "I began to see a strength I had never seen before. He loved me at my worst. I didn't want to sacrifice that just for a lay. So I grew out of that."

Mo'Nique, who shares 17-year-old twin sons Sidney, then gushed about her spouse. She called her "the best manager that I've ever had, and I've had the big boys," adding that they are practically inseparable as a couple.

Mo'Nique previously revealed that the key to her long-lasting relationship with Sidney is an open marriage. In a New York Times profile, the actress divulged, "We have an agreement that we'll always be honest, and if sex happens with another person, that's not a deal breaker for us, that's not something where we'll have to say, 'Oh God, we've got to go to divorce court because you cheated on me.' Because we don't cheat."

Later when appearing on "The Oprah Winfrey Show", the Oscar winner insisted that her idea of open marriage is not always about sex. "When we say open, we're very honest. There are no secrets. Oftentimes you have people that are married, but they're strangers, and we refuse to be those people," she explained.
