AceShowbiz - "Sister Wives" star Meri Brown has responded to rumors about her sexuality following her split from estranged husband Kody Brown. During an Instagram Live, Meri addressed speculation that she's dating women in the wake of their split.
"I've got people really wondering what I may or may not want to say. I'm just gonna do it. I am …straight," the 52-year-old reality star said. "I made an announcement. Now that you all know. You heard it from my mouth. I'm coming out as being straight. So, there you go."
Meri said that rumors that she's dating women started swirling around after she posted multiple pictures with female friends on social media. "It does not matter who I take a picture with and post it," Meri explained. "I'm either dating this guy or dating this girl. Because people can't seem to think that I can be friends-completely platonic friends-with females or males! It doesn't matter."
Additionally, there was apparently speculation that she's dating her friend Jenn Sullivan, who co-hosted the IG Live. Jenn said, "I recently had someone tell me that they read article that you and I are together."
While Meri insists that she's straight, she notes that she doesn't have any problem with the way other people live their lives. "It's not a bad thing to be," the TLC personality noted. "Whatever you want to be is whoever you are. It's not a big deal. I just know what I like."
Meri confirmed her split from Kody in the first episode of "Sister Wives: One on One" back in December 2022. She officially addressed the matter in an Instagram post in January. At the time, the reality TV star shared that after "a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship."
"During this process, we are committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all members of our family, and we are also committed to the continued healing of any and all relationships within the family so that we can move forward with forgiveness, grace, and love," so she concluded.
