AceShowbiz - Ariana DeBose shared a cryptic message after being blasted online for her disastrous rap performance at the 2023 BAFTA Awards. Making use of her Instagram account, the "West Side Story" actress appeared to slam the critics in the post.

She post, which was shared on Instagram Stories on Monday, February 20, read, "Babygirl, in a world full of choices, choose yourself." That aside, Ariana posted some behind-the-scenes pictures from the event. She was seen posing with fellow stars, including Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kathryn Gallagher and Rege-Jean Page.

Ariana's new posts arrived after the actress deactivated her Twitter account in the wake of criticism of her now-viral "awkward" rap on the same day. During her opening performance, the actress began with a song as she was joined by dancers who tore off her skirt in impressive scenes.

She later went on to name check members of the star-studded audience, including "Squid Game" star Ho-Yeon Jung, Dolly De Leon, Kerry Condon, Carey Mulligan, Emma Thompson, Ana De Armas, Danielle Deadwyler, Michelle, Angela Bassett, Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett and Jamie.

"All the ladies in the room/ supporting and leading all here, I presume/ Ho-Yeon Jung, Dolly De/ Kerry and Carey with a C/ Dame Emma, I'm so fond/ Ana, girl, you're great in 'Blonde'/ Danielle D, you broke my heart/ Michelle, I've loved you from the start," she rapped. "Angela Bassett did the thing/ Viola Davis my 'Woman King'/ Blanchett Cate, you're a genius/ Jamie Lee you are all of us."

In response to the performance, some fans immediately dubbed the special shout-out "cringe" and "awkward." Some others, meanwhile, admitted that they were "pissing" themselves laughing. "Bit cringe," one person tweeted. Another person said, "Can't say I was a fan of that rapping," with someone else adding, "Pissing myself laughing at the Ariana DeBose BAFTA song. Why did this happen?"
