AceShowbiz - French Montana couldn't be grateful for his latest achievement. Having become the most-streamed African-born artist in history, the "Unforgettable" rapper took to social media to thank his fans for their support.
Making use of Instagram, the 38-year-old shared a photo of himself and a list of his hit singles. In the accompanying message, he wrote, "That lil immigrant boy had faith ! Thank you to all my fans love y'all ( DOCUMENTARY COMING SOON )….. let's make more history … a GOAL without a plan is a wish."
French reached the milestone after his hit single "Unforgettable" featuring Swae Lee got a diamond certification last year and acquired more than three billion streams worldwide as a result. The diamond certification also made the emcee the first African-born artist to receive the accolade.
The achievement might be a good tool for French to silence his critics. Back in October 2021, a "Squid Game" meme trolling the rapper's music went viral. The meme joked about how he doesn't have any hit songs on his own. It challenged participants to name five tracks by the Moroccan native that do not include collaboration from other artists.
"For the next game, you need to name FIVE French Montana songs without features," read the tweet, which garnered a number of hilarious responses. One Twitter user in particular quipped, "tell my family I love them." Another wrote, "Lemme pray before I die."
French, however, has offered his clapback. He named his 14 songs, including "Ain't Worried About Nothin", "Don't Panic", "Famous", "Shot Caller", "What It Look Like" and more. He then argued, "Now eat a d**k [angry devil face] I'm droping a solo track this week."
