In a new episode of his podcast 'The Squeeze With Taylor Lautner and Taylor Lautner', the 'Twilight' actor is asked by his wife Taylor Dome about what moment in life he would go back to if he could.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Lautner reflected on how he poorly handled the situation when Kanye West infamously ruined his then-girlfriend Taylor Swift's award speech at the 2009 VMAs. In a new episode of his podcast, the "Twilight" actor was asked by his wife Taylor Dome about what moment in life he would go back to if he could.

"Probably the 2009 VMAs, when I presented the award to Taylor," he said of the "Midnights" artist, whom he was dating at the time, in the Wednesday, February 1 episode of "The Squeeze With Taylor Lautner & Taylor Lautner". The star went on to add, "And was unaware that the Kanye thing was not a skit."

Recounting the moment, which took place not long after the then-couple went public with their romance, Lautner shared, "So I presented the award to her, so I gave her the award. I took five steps back and was standing five feet behind her. And yeah, in the middle of her, giving her thank you speech, Kanye jumps up onto the stage."

In his defense, Lautner claimed, "I can barely hear it. I can't see them. I'm just assuming that this whole thing was a practiced and rehearsed skit. Because why else would Kanye West be jumping up on the stage and interrupting Taylor Swift? It just didn't make sense."

"If you look back at it, I'm actually caught, like laughing and giggling at it. I'm like, 'I can't hear them but this is probably really funny right now,' " he continued. Lautner also shared that he only realized that it wasn't a skit when he saw Swift's face. "He jumped off, she finished. The second she turned back around and I saw her for the first time. I was like, 'Oh.' This… that wasn't good."

Upon watching the clip, fans were praising Lautner as one commented, "The best ex does exist." Similarly, someone else wrote, "Taylor Lautner just achieved the 'Best ex of all time' award!" Some others, meanwhile, were quoting Swift's "Back to December" lyrics which were believed to be about Lautner as one said, "So this is me swallowin' my pride Standin' in front of you sayin' I'm sorry for that night!"

During the 2009 VMAs, Ye interrupted Swift when she delivered her award winning speech as she won best music video for "You Belong With Me". The rapper snatched the microphone from her and said, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but [Beyonce Knowles] had one of the best videos of all time!"
