AceShowbiz - Amazon MGM Studios is developing the scripted series fronted and executive produced by Taylor Lautner. The project was brought to Amazon by Tornante, the independent studio behind shows such as "BoJack Horseman."
Daisy Gardner, known for her work on "Single Drunk Female," is the creator and showrunner for "Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter". The actor quipped on Instagram after the project was announced, "Just when I thought I was out…they pull me back in."
Lautner will play a fictionalized version of himself who, after wrapping up the "Twilight" franchise, vanished from the spotlight. However, he was secretly preparing for his "real calling": becoming a werewolf hunter.
As Lautner navigates his double life as a Hollywood actor by day and a supernatural warrior by night, he must confront the ultimate irony of fighting the very creatures that made him famous. The series will explore themes of identity, fame, and the nature of heroism.
Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directing duo behind the recent "Scream" installments, will serve as directors and executive producers on the show via Radio Silence. Adam Londy of Tornante will also executive produce along with Tarik Kanafani.
Lautner, who first rose to fame as Jacob Black in the "Twilight" movies, has since appeared in various films and television shows, including "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl," "Scream Queens," and "Cuckoo." He also starred in his ex Taylor Swift's 2023 music video for "I Can See You."
