AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" is a major success in her music career. The pop star has taken a moment to appreciate all the attention towards her new breakup song as it becomes the most-streamed song in a single week in Spotify history and the number one record on the Billboard Hot 100.
The 30-year-old pop star took to her Instagram account to share some film-style photos of herself dancing and having fun. She posed in a little black mini-dress with a plunging neckline and long bell sleeves. Her blonde hair was pulled back in a loose bun with a tendril in the front framing her face.
"Celebrating 'Flowers' being #1 around the world again this week," Miley captioned the post. The former Disney Channel star continued, "I love that this record is connecting in such a positive way & it's a pleasure to continue creating music for you. These milestones are only made possible by the listeners & my incredible fans. Endlessly thankful."
Miley then listed the countries, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, the U.K. and U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
"Flowers" was released on MIley's ex-husband Liam Hemsworth's 33rd birthday on January 13 and will be included in her upcoming "Endless Summer Vacation" album. The new album will be released on March 10.
According to Billboard, "Flowers" has been streamed 59-point-eight million times. That is the most for any single since the Drake, Future and Young Thug collaboration "Way 2 Sexy" in September 2021.
Many fans speculated that "Flowers" is all about Miley's failed marriage to Liam. In addition to the cryptic release date, the lyrics and chorus melody of "Flowers" eerily mirror Bruno Mars' popular song "When I Was Your Man", which Liam allegedly dedicated to Miley at their wedding in 2018.
Lyrics like "I can love me better" might also hint at the tension in their marriage, which was evident in an awkward red carpet moment at the "Avengers: Endgame" premiere in May 2019. While posing for photos together, Miley pretended to lick Liam, who appeared to look uncomfortable. He later asked her to "behave for once," according to MTV. Miley appeared to be pissed off as she pushed Liam away and posed for solo photos.
Fans suggested that in the MV, the pop star replicated a dance she did at an event she attended with Liam. There are also rumors that the visual featured a motel used by Liam to take "14 other women while he was married to Miley."
Miley and Liam got married in 2018 after an on-again/off-again romance for almost a decade following their initial meeting on the set of 2009's "The Last Song". However, the marriage was short-lived and they divorced just eight months later, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their separation.
