During her appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen', the 'American Horror Story' actress also raves about her 'Scream Queens' co-star, saying she's 'down to earth and so talented.'

AceShowbiz - Emma Roberts has jokingly responded to the rumor that Lea Michele can't read. The "American Horror Story" actress discussed the speculations surrounding her "Scream Queens" co-star during an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" on Thursday, January 26.

In the episode, a fan asked Emma about Lea's performance in "Funny Girl" on Broadway and the "biggest misconception" about Lea. Host Andy noted that the "biggest misconception is that she can't read."

In response to that, Emma couldn't help but laugh before joking about the online conspiracy theory. "I mean, we've not been in a book club together, but…no," she said.

Fellow guest Julie Bowen also chimed in. "Why is reading so important, goddamnit? Let her not read if that's what she wants," the "Modern Family" alum said.

Lea herself poked fun at the longstanding rumor that she's illiterate when she made her TikTok debut back in September 2022. In a video, the actress could be seen calling her BFF Jonathan Groff to ask him to "read me the comments on my first TikTok."

She addressed the rumor once again while sharing a behind-the-scenes look behind the recording of the digital album of the "Funny Girl" Broadway revival soundtrack. In the comments section of a TikTok video, the actress replied to a fan who complimented her appearance, writing back, "These are the comments I like to READ."

Back to the "WWHL" episode, Emma also recalled making eye contact with the "Glee" star when she went to see her on Broadway. "I saw her in 'Funny Girl' and I was crying at the end. Like, I literally … And she looked at me. I said to my friend, 'I think she saw me!' " Emma recounted. "And my friend was like, 'Emma, she didn't see you. Shut up.' "

Emma went on to say that she later went backstage. She shared, "She's like, 'I saw you!' And I was like, 'I knew! I knew that we connected.' "

The "We're the Millers" star then praised Lea, saying, "I'm just so happy for her. She's so down to earth and so talented, and she just deserves everything she's getting with all the 'Funny Girl' praise. I couldn't be happier."
