The 'Back at One' hitmaker and his wife welcomed the baby boy months after the RnB/soul singer revealed that they lost their third child together, who died in infancy.

AceShowbiz - Brian McKnight and his wife Dr. Leilani Malia Mendoza have welcomed a new addition to their family. The couple announced their newborn son's arrival through a joint Instagram post shared on Monday, January 23.

The 53-year-old and his spouse posted e a photo of the two making a heart with their hands around the baby's hand. In the caption, they wrote, " 'For this child we have prayed and the Lord has granted us the desires of our hearts' 1 Samuel 1:27."

"God's greatest gift, our son is here!!! Brian Kainoa Makoa McKnight. We are so in love!!!!" the proud parents continued. They then added some hashtags "#iloveourlife #mylegacy#blessed #ohana #son #mrandmrsmcknight #knightandlei."

Brian confirmed his wife's pregnancy on November 10, 2022. Sharing a picture of him cradling his partner's baby bump while they shared a smooch with the backdrop of sunset on the beach, he penned, "We are ECSTATIC to finally announce BABY MCKNIGHT is coming soon!!!!!!!"

"To my beautiful wife you are my everything my hero my reason for living I'm so in love with you baby," the R&B/soul singer added. He also shared a picture of his blended family with his step-children, Jules McPhee and Jack McPhee.

Brian and Leilani, who got married in December 2017, already share three children together, Julia, Jack and Kekoa Matteo. Their youngest child, however, died in infancy. The crooner reflected on the loss of their baby boy on last year's Mother's Day.

"Happy Mothers Day to my beautiful wife," he wrote along at that time. "I treasure this picture it was our last family picture before the birth of our son Kekoa Matteo. Baby, you are the greatest example of being a mother I've ever witnessed."

"Today was supposed to be Kekoa's due date, and I know how hard him not being here in the flesh with us is weighing incredibly heavy on us, but I know he is with us just like Julia and Jack are, as shining examples of your exceptional motherhood," he further noted. "Our son will always be a part of us and live on in our hearts forever."
