AceShowbiz - Kanye West is mourning the death of Takeoff alongside members of hip-hop community. After getting his Twitter account reinstated, the Yeezy designer took to the micro-blogging platform to honor the late rapper.
On Thursday night, November 3, Ye posted a picture of himself and Migos during the earlier release of his "Donda 2" album. The photo saw the rap trio, Takeoff, Quavo and Offset, joining Ye as they all rocked all-black outfits during the performance. "LOVE FOREVER," so Ye wrote in the caption.
He further showed support to Takeoff, who was gunned down in an altercation outside a bowling alley on November 1. The "Famous" rapper shared a picture of Migos and referred to them as "FAMILY" in the caption.
Takeoff's tragic passing sent a shock wave to the hip-hop community. In the wake of his death, fellow musicians and fans alike took to social media to pay tribute to the rapper. Among those who shared touching messages were Drake, Ja Rule and Gucci Mane.
"I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch. That's what I'll focus on for now rest easy space man Take," Drake captioned a picture of himself and Takeoff onstage. "This broke my heart Rest In Peace @yrntakeoff," Gucci, who recently collaborated with Takeoff and his uncle and bandmate Quavo on the song "Us vs. Them", wrote alongside a picture of the slain musician.
Ja Rule, meanwhile, took to Twitter to share his condolences. "Rip Takeoff… this s**t has to STOP… sending love to friends and family," he wrote. Offset and his wife Cardi B also shared quiet tributes to the 28-year-old following his tragic passing. Offset changed his Instagram profile picture to a smiling photo of his late Migos bandmate. In the photo, Offset appeared to add a small white heart in the corner.
As for Cardi, the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker addressed Takeoff's shocking death on Wednesday by retweeting a throwback interview clip of Migos speaking to Complex. The footage saw Takeoff, Offset and Quavo discussing the best gift they'd ever received with Offset noting that his "best gift from [his] brothers is [his] brothers."
Takeoff was at a private party with Quavo when an altercation broke out on November 1. He was struck by a bullet outside the 810 Billiards and Bowling Houston in Texas, the Houston Police said at a press conference. Quavo, meanwhile, was not injured in the incident.
Officers also revealed during the press conference that at least two firearms were involved in the shooting. They also believe the suspects were also guests at a private party at the location.
