The British hunk, who portrays protagonist Geralt of Rivia on the Netflix show, confirms his departure on his own Instagram page but he doesn't detail the reason behind it.

AceShowbiz - Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill as protagonist Geralt of Rivia on "The Witcher" season 4. When confirming the news on his social media account, "The Hunger Games" actor said he's "over the moon" to embark on this new adventure.

Making use of Instagram on Saturday, October 29, the Australian hunk gushed, "As a Witcher fan I'm over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I'm honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure."

"Henry, I've been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character," the younger brother of Chris Hemsworth added. "I may have some big boots to fill, but I'm truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world."

Henry himself confirmed his departure on his own Instagram page. "My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4," the British actor declared. "In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf."

"As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men," the 39-year-old further detailed. "Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find."

Henry did not offer more detail about the reason for his exit. He, however, still had great news for fans as he announced his return as Superman earlier this week. "Hey everyone, I wanted to wait until the weekend was over before posting this, because I wanted to give you all the chance to watch 'Black Adam'," Henry, who appears as Superman in an un-credited cameo in "Black Adam", said in an Instagram video.

"But now that plenty of you have, I wanted to make it official," he continued. "I am back as Superman and the image you see in this post and what you saw in 'Black Adam' are a very small taste of what's to come."
