In a new picture and footage, 'The Hunger Games' star sees transforming into the fan-favorit after taking the role from Henry Cavill for the upcoming fourth season.

AceShowbiz - Liam Hemsworth has officially transformed into Geralt of Rivia on "The Witcher". In a new picture, "The Hunger Games" star takes over the role from Henry Cavill for season 4 of the hit fantasy-drama.

On Wednesday, May 22, Netflix took to social media to share the first footage of Liam as the fan-favorite character. The clip sees Liam's Geralt walking in the darkness alongside his white horse.

Entertainment Weekly also unveiled a better look at Liam as Geralt. Rocking Geralt's white hair, he also wears the character's signature black attire. "Liam Hemsworth officially transforms into Geralt of Rivia in EW's exclusive first look at #TheWitcher season 4," the account captioned the post.

Fans had mixed responses to the new picture. "To be fair I looked at the image and thought it was Cavill," one person said. An excited fan added, "I'm personally excited to see how he does!" Someone, meanwhile, encouraged others to give Liam "a chance."

Despite that, some others were not exactly thrilled. "what a downgrade lol," one said. "I don't hate it, but I disagree with how this was handled," another noted.

Some fans, meanwhile, thought that "The Witcher" is beyond salvation. "Even if we still had Henry. The show is a lost cause," one commented. "Dude's gonna put his heart and soul into it (as he should) just for the show to get canned and the showrunners continue to wonder 'What went wrong?' " another noted.

Henry confirmed his departure from "The Witcher" in 2022 and showed support to Liam as his successor in a statement. "My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures," Cavill wrote in a statement shared to social media at the time. "In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf."

"As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him. Enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find," he continued.
