Tory Lanez flaunts how wealthy he is in the "Why Did I" music video. Arriving on Friday, September 30, the visuals shows the Canadian rapper making it rain at a strip club while singing about a troubled relationship and a toxic night out.
"Wanna ride the Rolls 'cause the stars' like a solarship/ How you tryna go viral but you tryna go legit?/ Next time you wanna open up, you might just hold this s**t," he spits. "Bully how I beat her p***y, leave her with the swollen lips/ Told this lil' b***h p***y,'Take that call and shot it, hold the grip.' "
"Why Did I" appears on Tory's new album "Sorry 4 What", which also arrived on Friday. It consists of 19 other tracks, including "Bad B***hes Wrk & Taboo", "Sex Songs", "Hennessey Memories" and "This Ain't Working" among others. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie is the only artist who is featured in the project.
Upon the release of the album, LeBron James took to social media to praise Tory for the new set. When responding to CuffsTheLegend's tweet which said that "Tory consistently makes damn good music," the Los Angeles Lakers star gushed, "FACTS!!!! He never misses. That boy talented as hell man! Bangers for days!!"
LeBron's support for Tory, however, didn't sit well with many online users considering the latter's ongoing shooting case against Megan Thee Stallion. Some of them accused the basketball player of being hypocritical as he previously advocated for protection for black women.
Sharing a screenshot of LeBron's old tweet, a critic wrote, "so you're changing this by siding with a man who almost killed a black woman and she is still facing daily harassment from his incel cult members because she dare to stand up against him??" The said old tweet, meanwhile, read, "The most DISRESPECTED person on earth is THE BLACK WOMAN! I promise you I'll do my best to change this as much as I can and even more!! LOVE to you QUEENS all over this country and beyond!"
Another person responded to LeBron, "What a thing to wake up and see. What a betrayal to all the Black Women who have had Lebron's back. Wow. I'm actually speechless. This tweet is a DECISION OF SUPPORT for a man who shot Megan multiple times. The lack of value we are shown as Black Women has no depths."
