The trial gets delayed for about two months as the 'Say It' rapper's defense lawyer Shawn Holley is tied up with the confidential arbitration of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer.

AceShowbiz - Tory Lanez seems to be in a good spirit though he could face up to 22 years in prison if he's convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion's leg during an altercation back in July 2020. The "LUV" rapper says he's "chilling" as the trial gets delayed again.

On Wednesday, September 14, the 30-year-old rapper, born Daystar Peterson, appeared in court for what was initially scheduled to be his trial date. However, Judge David Herriford granted the rap star's request for delay, because his defense lawyer Shawn Holley is tied up with the confidential arbitration of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer. The new trial date will be between November 28 and December 8.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Tory was asked by an interviewer, "How are you feeling?" when leaving the courthouse. In response to the question, "The Color Violet" rapper simply replied, "I'm chilling."

Shortly after Tory exited the courthouse, Megan's ex-best friend, Kelsey Nicole, was brought in to speak with the judge. Kelsey was told to return to court on December 9 under a subpoena from prosecutors. The 27-year-old new mom was inside the SUV with Tory and Megan during the incident which took place two years ago.

In June, Megan said she believes Tory gave Kelsey money to not speak up following the assault. During an interview with Rolling Stone, the Houston femcee said, "I'm like, 'Kelsey, as my best friend, why would you meet up with the person you saw shoot your best friend? You're the only person in this situation that would clear this up for me.' "

"She said, 'Megan, y'all wasn't answering my calls. My back was against the wall. I didn't know what to do,' " Megan further recalled. The "Sweetest Pie" raptress went on blasting her former BFF, "What the f**k do you mean your back is against the wall?"

Catching wind of Megan's allegations, Kelsey set the record straight that she's planning on exposing the truth about the situation. "If y'all not catching on to the social media games by now, then I don't know what to tell y'all," she said. "But you guys have to pay attention. Like, I knew this was gonna happen."

As for Tory, he has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying a concealed unregistered weapon. If convicted, the Canadian rapper could face up to 22 years in prison.
