When breaking his silence on the explosive lawsuit, the comedian also says that he believes he 'won't be shaken down' and stresses that he is 'no coward' and 'not guilty of anything.'

AceShowbiz - Aries Spears has broken his silence after being hit with a child grooming lawsuit. In a new interview, the comedian insisted that he's innocent and claimed that his character is being "assassinated."

The 47-year-old comedian spoke out about the explosive lawsuit accusing himself and fellow comedian Tiffany Haddish of grooming and molesting two minor kids to film sexually explicit skit "Through a Pedophile's Eyes" in the Wednesday, September 7 episode of his podcast "Spears & Steinberg" featuring Andy Steinberg. In the podcast, the funnyman revealed he could only say so much at this time.

"This is a shakedown and I didn't need my lawyer to tell me this to say this, but I'm gonna echo her words, 'We won't be shaking down,'" Aries began. "Believe me, it's bothering me not to talk about the skit," he added, "There's some very valid things that I feel like I have to say, or want to say."

Aries further insisted that he's "no coward." He then doubled down, "I'm not running from anything and I'm not guilty of anything. It's the reason why I won't turn my mentions off on my Instagram. It's the reason why ... you know ... I'm not deleting any of my old posts. I would love to address it head-on." He continued, "It's paining me to do so because I'm a fighter. I'm not a runner," before claiming his character is being "assassinated."

Aries' podcast comments were made after his attorney Debra Opri made a statement that "he isn't going to fall for any shakedown."

Last week, Aries and Tiffany were named as defendants in a lawsuit filed by a female plaintiff Jane Doe, who accused them of grooming her, when she was just 14 years old, and her 7-year-old brother and forcing them to film the explicit skit. Recently, the woman urged the district attorney of Los Angeles to "arrest and prosecute" Aries and Tiffany immediately for their alleged actions.

The said pedo skit showed a woman who repeatedly left her little boy alone with a man who lusted after him. There were also scenes of the kid wearing minimal clothing, including being in a bathtub as Aries' character watched on before getting in. When lotion got involved, Aries was looking at the boy and R. Kelly's "Bump & Grind" was played in the background.

More recently, Tiffany said that she's actually "relieved" that this has all come forth as she had enough of being threatened by this. "I wanted to take responsibility and I was tired of being extorted," she told Hollywood Unlocked on Tuesday, September 6.

Tiffany also released a statement on Instagram, admitting that she regretted having agreed to act in the skit. "I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I'm right there with you," she wrote. "Unfortunately because there is an ongoing legal case, there's very little that I can say right now."

"Clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn't funny at all," the former star of "The Last O.G." added. "I deeply regret having agreed to act in it," she continued, before concluding her post as writing, "I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can."
