The former co-host of 'Fashion Police' admits that she 'had s**tty care' that makes her 'extremely fearful and anxious' with a surgeon who removed half of her left lung.

AceShowbiz - Kathy Griffin is counting on her fans. The 61-year-old comedienne is asking her fans to interpret her latest cancer scan after she was "ghosted" by a surgeon who removed half of her left lung.
On Monday, August 22, the "Pulp Fiction" star posted her recent cancer scan both on her Twitter and Instagram accounts. Along with the medical report, she tweeted, "You guys, I don't really have an oncologist & the surgeon who removed half my lung ghosted me, but I think my #lungcancer scan is clean. So, since I can't get anyone on the phone out of my thousands of doctors to interpret this, I'm asking #CancerTwitter! Hey #oncology."
Dr. Jeffrey Swisher, MD responded quickly with the message, "Hey Kathy, the report looks great. But to be fully reassured, you really need to schedule an appointment with a pulmonary oncologist and have them look at the actual scan." He also offered to help her find a new physician as writing, "If you are up in SF I can help you find someone. I will be at Code and we can discuss if you want."
"Thx Doc! I don't know one. I don't even have a pulmonologist. The dude I had is like 85 years old," Kathy replied. The Emmy and Grammy-winning comedienne later shared the criteria she wants for her next pulmonologist, "No more men. Not kidding. I'd prefer a female under 50. I'd love recommendations for Cedars, St Johns or UCLA! I've had s**tty care & it makes me extremely fearful and anxious."
In a follow-up post, Kathy detailed that the doctor who "ghosted" her was the one who "did [her] 1/2 left lung removal." She added, "But, I lost confidence in him bc the day he did my surgery in the am, he himself underwent anesthesia a couple hours later in the same hospital & had his own knee operated on. So he didn't eat or drink before he cut me."
"Sucks!" Kathy said of the circumstances. "He ruined my vocal chords & my arytenoids permanently! My voice is my living. It's discouraging 2 me that people are sticking up 4 a surgeon who has caused me so many difficulties. I had stage 1," she added, "I sure wish I had gotten chemo/radiation instead of surgery with this hack Dr."
In August last year, Kathy alerted her fans that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer and would be undergoing surgery to remove the malignant tumor. "I've got to tell you guys something. I have cancer. I'm about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed," she announced on social media at the time. "Yes, I have lung cancer even though I've never smoked! The doctors are very optimistic as it is stage one and contained to my left lung."
Following the surgery, which she described as "more than" she could have ever anticipated, Kathy announced in December that year that she's "cancer-free." After being declared cancer-free, the former "Fashion Police" co-host went topless while dancing on a balcony by the ocean in a video she shared on her 61st birthday.
