AceShowbiz - Honey Boo Boo will do whatever it takes to have a healthier version of herself. The former "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star, who is also known as Alana Thompson reportedly will undergo weight loss surgery along with her boyfriend.
Revealing the news was Alana's manager, Gina Rodriguez. Gina told TMZ that Alana will take the procedure in New York City in late August after she celebrates her 17th birthday.
The "Toddlers & Tiaras" alum will get a suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve from weight loss doctor Steven Batash, which can cost about $13K. The TV personality decided to go under the knife because her diet and exercise did not give the results she wanted.
It was unveiled that Alana is currently 275 pounds, and wants to get down to 150. She believes that surgery is the only way to reach her goals because she thinks her weight is genetic.
Alana is not alone. Her boyfriend Dralin Carswell will also undergo the same procedure for himself too.
The news arrived around one month after Alana sparked engagement rumors with Dralin. In a series of photos published by Page Six on June 20, she was seen flashing a huge sparkler while posing with her sister Lauryn Shannon a.k.a. Pumpkin, the latter's husband and their kids.
However, a representative for Alana has quickly shut down the rumors. The rep told Page Six that the 16-year-old and Dralin are not engaged to get married. As for the diamond ring, the rep insist that it is "just a ring."
Alana and Dralin's relationship was first revealed in September 2021. At the time, The Sun reported that the pair had been dating for six months. They were believed to have made their relationship official when Dralin, a college student, changed his status to In a Relationship on Facebook back in March. On the same day, the reality TV star posted a photo of the pair together on her private account. In the comments on the photo, Dralin called her his "bae" and added a heart emoji.
