Internet is ablaze after rumors claim that the Canadian star and his entourage are arrested in Sweden on charges related to marijuana, prompting 'Free Drake' to trend on the blue bird app.

AceShowbiz - Drake is a free man. On Thursday, July 14, Internet was ablaze after it was reported that the Canadian star and his entourage were arrested in Sweden. However, a new report claimed that there's no truth to the claim.
XXL revealed that it had confirmed with a rep for the "In My Feelings" hitmaker that the report about him being taken into custody by Swedish authorities at a night club on marijuana charges was false. In a video circulating online, Drizzy's plane, "Air Drake", landed in Sweden on Wednesday, though the reason of his visit to the country is still unclear.
Even though there wasn't proof about the arrest, it didn't stop Internet users from firing off posts and memes about the alleged incident. Some people took to Twitter to ask President Joe Biden to free Drake considering Donald Trump aided A$AP Rocky's release when he was arrested in the same country in 2019.
"Joe Biden coming in to free Drake to boost his approval rating," one person tweeted. However, some fans noted that the request didn't make sense because Drake is Canadian with one of them writing, "how y'all telling Biden to free Drake bro he not even from the United States."
Others, meanwhile, mentioned WNBA star Brittney Griner who has been jailed in Russia for months after being found with cannabis at an airport. "It's 'Free Drake' when he gets downgraded to a studio apartment in Sweden but Brittney Griner still getting a bottle of Svedka broken over her head every hour in a gulag," one user wrote. Another person posted a meme of someone crying with a caption which read, "Brittney griner listening people saying free drake."
Not even taking the report seriously, one person tweeted, "Drake probably in a hotel room sleeping next to 2 women right now while we screaming free Drake. Smh." Another user, meanwhile, clowned those who believed the rumors as saying, "Y'all was talking about FREE DRAKE over some shit that didn't even happen! goes to show y'all will believe anything on this app... especially from unverified accounts."
Drake has yet personally to address the arrest report.
