AceShowbiz - Kanye West made his return to Instagram nearly four months after he wiped out his Instagram feed after a 24-hour ban. On Thursday, July 14, Ye took to his account to share a motivational message about his partnership with GAP in addition to honoring his late mom following what would have been her 73rd birthday.
"On my moms birthday I was able for the first time to sit in on a Gap call with Bob Martin, Bob Fisher and other leads of the company," Ye wrote alongside a photo of Gap Inc. chairman and interim CEO Bob Martin. "Bob Martin was one of the most inspiring people I've heard speak in business. He kept saying go to the stores on the call."
He continued, "I came to Gap to put good product directly in stores. We've had 2 of the biggest sales day in Gap history since I've been there. We sold 14 million dollars worth of the perfect black hoodie at 80 dollars a hoodie off of a television commercial that was ran one time."
The rapper added, "I came to Gap to bring good quality products to the people at all times. Bob I need to meet with you as soon as possible." The Yeezy Gap partnership was announced in 2020. They kicked off the collaboration by launching a blue puffer jacket made from recycled nylon.
Ye's post arrived after Gap Inc. fired Sonia Syngal after nearly three years as its chief executive officer. Bloomberg also claimed in its report that a deal to produce Kanye's Yeezy brand "failed to generate meaningful results."
The post was the "Famous" rapper's first post after being suspended by Meta, Instagram's parent company, back in March. The company claimed that Ye "violated its policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying" after he attacked his ex Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend Pete Davidson and D.L. Hughley. He also went on a racial slur-filled rant against Trevor Noah.
